Twenty years to the day of its release, Nas returned to Coachella to celebrate the anniversary of Illmatic. After sharing the stage
with Jay Z last weekend, the rap god performed his 1994 debut in its
entirety and brought out Ms. Lauryn Hill during his late-night set on
the Outdoor Theatre stage.
Dressed in black pants and a flowy white top, the Fugees frontwoman performed “Ready or Not” and “If I Ruled the World (Imagine That)” before embracing Nas.
“My life was snatched when Ms. Lauryn Hill graced Nas’ encore with her presence!!!!” wrote one fan.
Earlier in his set, Nas also brought out Damian “Jr. Gong” Marley to perform “Welcome to Jamrock” and “Road to Zion.”
